Falmouth Police bag burglar inside residence

Suspect arrested on variety of charges, outstanding warrants

Police nab burglary suspect inside residence:

Police developed information that a suspect was planning to break into homes in the Grasmere neighborhood of Falmouth on Tuesday night. Officers fanned the neighborhood and located the suspect, Christopher Lopes, inside a residence in that neighborhood. Lopes gained entry into the unoccupied home by using a tool to pry open the door. 

Mr. Lopes was arrested inside the home by Falmouth PD Officers and a Barnstable County Sheriffs K9 officer. Lopes, 46 yrs. old of Falmouth, is being charged with Unarmed Burglary, Possession of Burglarious Tools and Malicious Injury to Property. In addition, Lopes had two outstanding arrest warrants at the time of his capture. Lopes was arraigned at Falmouth Court Wednesday morning.

Police are investigating Lopes’ possible involvement in other residential breaks that have occurred recently in Falmouth.
