The Hundred Acre School, the innovative preschool at Heritage Museums & Gardens, is hosting Third Thursday Tours each month. Each month on the third Thursday, families of prospective students are invited to drop in to The Hundred Acre School to meet the director, tour the preschool, discuss available programs, including school enrollment and school vacation programs, and register.
The special tours will give parents and caregivers an opportunity to see the school firsthand and learn more about its STEM-centric and outdoor discovery-based curriculum – as well as its success. For the second consecutive year, students at The Hundred Acre School exceeded the national average in six key domains: mathematics, cognition, literacy, language, socio-emotional, and physical.
The Hundred Acre School engages preschoolers in active learning and preparation for better success in school using Heritage’s collections, facilities, and 100 acres of outdoor learning and engagement. The school’s mission is to teach the whole child, using children’s natural curiosity and ease at learning through play, while emphasizing STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) as a springboard to multidisciplinary learning.
