Mandatory Information Session Set for Tues. Feb. 7, 2017

Hyannis, MA – The Center for Corporate and Professional Education (CCPE) at Cape Cod Community College is responding to the increasing demand for quality Personal Care Attendants (PCA) by offering a PCA Pre-Employment Preparedness Program, FREE to those who are selected to participate. A mandatory information session for this 25-hour pilot program will be held on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at 5pm. All those interested in participating in this exciting pilot program, MUST attend this information session.

In addition to learning fundamentals associated with being a PCA, this program will provide career readiness activities and certify participants in CPR/AED and First Aid.  Additionally, staff from Cape Organization for the Rights of the Disabled (CORD), Rewarding Work, 1199 SEIU, Home Care Training Benefit and BenePLAN will provide a host of free, local resources to participants.

PCA's have a vital role helping people of all ages with disabilities to live independently by assisting them with everyday tasks such as: dressing, grooming, housekeeping, shopping, cooking, and personal care. A graduate of a past program said, “I really enjoyed this program and I am eager to help those in need.”

CCPE’s Personal Care Attendant Pre-Employment Preparedness Program will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays, February 21st  through March 16th from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Cape Cod Community College’s Hyannis Center, 540 Main Street, Hyannis.
