Falmouth Police seized a sawed-off rifle while serving a search warrant Friday morning, according to a statement from Lieutenant Douglas DeCosta.

The search warrant was served at a residence on Homestead Lane in East Falmouth.

Officers identified and arrested a suspect, 21-year-old Greg Harris, without incident.

A short narcotics investigation, including controlled purchases of heroin, led to the search warrant. During the search a sawed-off rifle was seized.

The search warrant was served by Falmouth Police, Mashpee Police, Barnstable County Sheriff’s Office, and the Upper Cape Special Response Team.

Harris faces preliminary charges of illegal possession of a firearm, improper storage of a firearm, possession with intent to distribute heroin, possession with intent to distribute cocaine, and possession with intent to distribute marijuana. He will also be charged under the Armed Career Criminal Act for persons previously convicted of violent crimes or serious drug offenses. Harris is expected to be arraigned today at Falmouth District Court.
