Congressman Keating will again lead Terrorism Subcommittee

Works with State Department to combat terrorism
Congressman Bill Keating

Washington, DC - Today, Rep. Bill Keating was again voted by his colleagues on the House Foreign Affairs Committee to serve as the Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Terrorism, Nonproliferation, and Trade.

The Subcommittee has direct jurisdiction over the efforts of the State Department to combat terrorism; advancement of legislation pertaining to nuclear, chemical, biological and other weapons of mass destruction; and international economic and trade policy. As the lead Democrat overseeing these issues, Rep. Keating remains committed to advancing polices that support both democratic values and humanitarian efforts while promoting transparency at home and abroad.

“The security of the United States relies on collaborative and transparent practices,” said Rep. Keating.  “We cannot support isolationist policies if we wish to truly remain vigilant and I will fight to preserve the international cooperation we know to work when our crucial security partnerships are threatened at home or abroad.” welcomes thoughtful comments and the varied opinions of our readers.
