Dennis Police impose winter storm parking ban

6 a.m. Thursday to at least 6 a.m. Friday

The Dennis Department of Public Works will be out treating and clearing roadways from a storm that will impact the Cape from Thursday morning, February 9 through Friday, February 10th.  For this reason a parking ban will be in effect.

At this time weather forecasts call for up to 6-10 inches of snow here on the Cape with  winds possibly gusting at times to 50 mph.

The parking ban will begin at 6 AM on Thursday, February 9, 2017 and last until 6 AM on Friday, February 10, 2017. Vehicles parked on roadways may be towed at the owner’s expense. This will allow for the DPW to properly clear the roadways.

In addition, private contractors are reminded that it is a violation of Dennis Town Bylaws to push snow from private lots into the roads.  Violation of this provision may result in a fine of $100.00 to $300.00.

Citizens encountering fallen trees or wires should call the Police Department using the 911 system - if an emergency - or dialing 508-394-1313.  Do not go near downed lines – they may be charged.  Police or fire personnel will respond to these calls and notify appropriate utilities.
