Cape Tech Girls in Construction Program Attend State Conference

Cape Cod Tech girls from the school's Construction Cluster (Carpentry, Electrical, HVAC and Plumbing) attended the Massachusetts Girls in Trades Conference and Career Fair held at the IBEW Local 103 in Dorchester. Students attended an opening session at which various representatives from the construction trades spoke, including Twamya Lawson, a Journeyperson from the Operating Engineers Local 4. Students also attended a workshop on becoming a union tradeswoman and attended a career fair with over 50 booths offering information on the construction trades, state and education organizations, trade unions and employment opportunities.
