NOAA: Weekend weather update (6 p.m. 03/17/17)

Cool temps, windy, chance of snow...

Fair but still colder than normal for the start of the weekend. Clear skies and light wind tonight will allow temperatures to chill into the high single numbers in some spots, with most areas reaching the teens.

Morning sun will give way to clouds by afternoon, but remaining dry for most people. There is a chance of snow developing in Connecticut and Western MA toward Saturday evening.

Snow moves into Southern New England Saturday night with the high point of the storm during Sunday morning and midday. Expect most snow accumulation in Southeast MA and much of RI. Lighter accumulations are possible in northern CT and the remainder of MA. The highest amounts should be along the South Coast, and especially Cape Cod.

A Winter Storm Watch has been issued for Cape Cod and Martha's Vineyard for late Saturday night and Sunday. A High Wind Watch has been issued for Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard, and Nantucket.
