Last week after a very festive St Patty's Day brunch at the Cape Cod Tech school in Harwich I walked across the hall and picked up a brochure at the school's cosmetology salon.
This program offers students the chance to study the art of the beauty industry. The full service Salon is open to the public and services performed by the students includieeverything for hair, nails and skin.
I called and made an appointment for the "Deluxe European Facial and Paraffin" for only $20. I have had facials in the past costing $185 plus.
Upon my arrival, I was introduced to Megan the Esthetician, who performed the 1 1/2 hour procedure. The entire process was absolutely state-of-the art and as good as the ones I have had at the higher price.
I made another appointment in June just before the school goes on break for the summer.
Then there was lunch...
It was 11:30am and I noticed across the hall the Hidden Cove Restaurant was about to serve lunch. The culinary arts students offer a daily a la carte menu open to the public with soups, salads and sandwiches along with a variety of entrees. I had the special today which was BBQ brisket of beef with roasted potatoes, carrots and freshly-baked rolls - All for only $6.
