Scheduled Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Flight at Highlands Golf Course

Notice from the Town of Dennis

Notice delivered via Dennis Police Department:

The Town of Dennis is working with AirShark, a private UAV company, on a project to capture imagery at the Dennis Highlands Golf Course to be used for turf analysis.  This flight will happen Tuesday, May 9th, 2017, depending on the weather, and will start with the front nine of the golf course in the morning, and finish with the back nine in the afternoon.  As part of this imagery any identifiable people will be digitized out during editing of the raw dataset.  The small UAV will be flown at 200-400 feet above the ground, and operations will have the required authorizations from the FAA, State and Local entities before the flight. The UAV will be flown over the golf course, and personnel will have signs, radios and safety vests during the flight. This project is being flown as a proof of concept for the company, so there is no cost to the Town.

Any questions may be directed to Michael Cummings, Director of Golf, Dennis, MA at (508)385-8347.
