From Falmouth Fire/Rescue:

At approx 0155 this morning, Engine 24 and Breaker 16 were dispatched to a report of a brush fire in the Salt Pond Bird Sanctuary. Upon arriving in the area, E24 observed a large glow and heavy smoke in the area. Shortly thereafter, a FPD officer located a heavily involved structure fire on Hummingbird Hill Rd. A working fire was quickly struck, and a special call was made for a Ladder to the scene (Mashpee Tower 356). Multiple attack lines were stretched, and the fire was eventually knocked down. There were no injuries. The fire is being investigated jointly by the FFRD, FPD and the State Fire Marshalls Office. Special thanks to the JBCC and Mashpee Fire Departments for providing station coverage and assistance at the scene.
