(Hyannis, June 6, 2017) – Cape Cod Healthcare announced that for the sixth consecutive year, Cape Cod Hospital (CCH) has been named one of America’s 100 Great Community Hospitals according to a study by Becker’s Hospital Review. This recognition is based on quality of care and service to our community, and shows that the hospital is successfully and consistently achieving exceptional results in patient care and satisfaction.
Becker’s has published this list annually since 2011 and CCH has been included every year. For purposes of the list, Becker’s defines a “community hospital” as one with fewer than 550 beds that have minimal teaching programs.
The Becker's Hospital Review editorial team selected hospitals based on rankings and awards from organizations including iVantage Health Analytics, Truven Health Analytics, Healthgrades, CareChex, the American Nurses Credentialing Center and the Leapfrog Group. Organizations cannot pay for inclusion on the list.
“The hospitals included on this list are recognized for quality, patient satisfaction and overall excellence,” according to a press release from Becker’s Hospital Review. “The institutions featured on this list play a key role in their communities as the centerpiece for healthcare in many occasions.”
“We are pleased that Cape Cod Hospital has once again been recognized by this prestigious organization,” said Michael K. Lauf, President and CEO of Cape Cod Healthcare, the parent company of Cape Cod Hospital. “Our entire team, including our expert physicians, providers, nurses and support staff, deserve recognition for this achievement. They take tremendous pride in bringing the latest and best evidence-based care to our patients and our community, and having the hospital named to the list for the last six years is confirmation of their consistently hard work.”
Cape Cod Hospital is the only Massachusetts hospital on the Becker’s 100 Great Community Hospitals 2017 list. Becker's Hospital Review features up-to-date business and legal news and analysis relating to hospitals and health systems.
