Masphee Wampanoag Police Warn Against Eating Herring

Four Great Blue Herons found dead of undetermined cause

The Mashpee Wampanoag Tribal Police have issued a notice requesting that the public refrain from eating herring fish or roe caught in local waters.

Over the past two weeks, four Great Blue Herons have been found dead of undetermined causes.  Since herring is a big part of this bird's diet, there is concern of something toxic in the fish.
