6th Annual ClamBQ, The Orleans Food & Music Festival

Event preview and call for vendors, sponsors

The Orleans Chamber of Commerce will host the 6th annual ClamBQ! The Orleans Food and Music Festival, on Saturday, September 30th from 10:30 AM – 5 PM.  The festival has tripled in attendance since 2012 when it debuted at the town’s Odd Fellows Hall. Having outgrown that original location, ClamBQ! 2017 will once again be held on the field at Eldredge Park at the corner of Route 28 and Eldredge Park Way in Orleans.

The early fall celebration will feature a traditional clambake dinner complete with steamers, lobster, corn and potatoes. The experts from Big Dog’s BBQ at The Orleans Bowling Center will again be serving pulled pork sandwiches and special sides.  In addition, a food court will feature fare from several local restaurants.

Vendor applications are being accepted now: www.clambq.com/food-court/.

Last year’s ClamBQ featured: Ames Pizzeria, Nauset Beach Club Restaurant, Hole-In-One Restaurant, The Local Scoop, Nauset Fish & Lobster Pool and Salt Block Food Truck. Locally brewed beer by Hog Island Beer Co. and wine from Friends’ Marketplace will be served in the beverage court.

The confirmed musical line-up for ClamBQ 2017 includes some of the area’s most notable performers: The Grab Brothers from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Wicked Rooster from 2:30 to 5 p.m.

In addition to heaps of food and music, the festival includes free kids’ activities, including hayrides, face painting, inflatable games and for tweens and teens, the colossal Amazin’ Gamin’ Video Game Truck. Corn hole will also be featured this year and be available all day.

Noelle Pina, Executive Director of the Orleans Chamber says, “ClamBQ has grown from what was a large community picnic at Odd Fellows Hall when it first began to a true food and music festival, with over 3,000 attending on average. This was a huge leap in attendance from 2015 when we had 1,000 attending. Eldredge Park also worked out very well for the attractions we have, and we look forward to hosting another fun filled day. It promises to be a great time for everyone!”

Tickets for ClamBQ 2017 are $37 for the clambake dinner and $27 for the BBQ (both include admission to the event).  General admission tickets are $10 (food and drinks not included) and kids 12 and under are free.  Tickets can be purchased at the door or in advance at www.clambq.com or at the Orleans Chamber of Commerce on Main Street.
