Division of Marine Fisheries Closes Additional Shellfish Beds

Excessive storm water runoff causes closure

The runoff from Friday's excessive rains has caused the State Division of Marine Fisheries to close shellfishing areas in five Cape towns.  Areas East of the Cape Cod Canal are closed in Bourne, Sandwich, Mashpee, Barnstable and along Lewis Bay in Yarmouth.

Closures remain in effect until further notice.  Updates and information will be available from your local shellfish authorities.
