(Dennis, MA, July 6, 2017) On July 28 the garden, grounds and galleries of the museum will be free and open to the playful public.  Kite flying, face painting, portrait painting, live music and seeing all the exhibits in the museum are just a few of the activities to enjoy.

Some of the featured activities are:

  • Kite-flying: The ever- popular Archie Stewart will help kids build and fly their own kites right in front of the museum.
  • Portrait painting: Artist Sarah Holl will be drawing pastel portraits of kids to take home as a special work of art.
  •  “Drums Alive”:  Rene King will lead an energetic, interactive drumming session and keep the beat going.
  • Face painting & crafts: The Dennis Yarmouth Girl Scouts will paint charming faces and lead more creative crafts.
  • Artists Laura Balboni and Maryalice Eizenberg  will be painting in the sculpture garden, inspiring children to create their own paintings with provided materials.

This free day for the family follows a long tradition at the Cape Cod Museum of Art and is now among the 85 institutions across Massachusetts participating in this year’s Free Fun Friday initiative thanks to the Highland Street Foundation.  www.highlandstreet.org
