The workmen are working and the "Now Hiring" signs are up - Orleans has a new business moving into what's billed as "the highest visibility retail lease space in the center of town". For decades the home of Cape Cod Photo, Art and Framing, the property at the corner of Route 6a and Main Street has sat vacant since the photo shop moved to 60 Route 6a last year.
The new occupant is Amcomm Wireless, a Verizon-authorized retailer. According to Amcomm's website they already have three Cape Cod stores - in Harwich, South Yarmouth and Falmouth. They operate 27 retail locations throughout Massachusetts, Maine and New Hampshire.
Orleans currently has a Wireless Zone store, which is also a Verizon-authorized retailer. Wireless Zone became the community's only wireless store after the Radio Shack at Skaket Corners closed and Staples discontinued its wireless department.
No announcement of an opening date for the Orleans Amcomm Wireless store has been made at this time.
If you're looking for a career in wireless sales, Amcomm has positions for the Orleans store listed on their employment page.
