Eastham, Massachusetts, August 28, 2017. The Lower Cape Adult Day Center~The Gathering Place will host its first fundraiser on Tuesday, September 26th at 4:30 pm at the Eastham Council on Aging, located at 1405 Nauset Road.
This fundraiser will feature food from Arnold’s Lobster and Clam Bar, live musical entertainment and a silent auction! All proceeds will benefit The Gathering Place, a social adult day center that offers a productive setting to help enhance the lives of mature adults with cognitive impairment and/or social isolation. The Gathering Place offers a place to meet new friends, participate in hobbies and special interests, improve health through daily exercise, enjoy healthy homemade meals, celebrate holidays and birthdays, and to share life experiences.
Brianna LePage, Program Manager at The Gathering Place, will be on vocals, violin and guitar. Brianna is a Music Therapist with roots to the Outer Cape. She is a Provincetown native, where she attended Provincetown High School followed by study and graduation from Berklee College of Music and from Hartt School of Music. After residing for a time in New York, her family returned to the Cape.
John Thomas will be on the piano. John Thomas is an international composer, pianist, music director, actor, photographer, writer and event producer. He has played piano at Boston’s Symphony Hall and with the Cape Symphony. He has performed with musicians from Provincetown to Boston, and from New Orleans to New York City, as well as Bulgaria, France, Greece, Mexico and Nepal.
The meal will include a lobster roll and cole slaw from Arnold’s Lobster and Clam Bar, Cape Cod potato chips, iced tea, and dessert for just $20.00! There will also be a silent auction. All proceeds will benefit The Lower Cape Adult Day Center~The Gathering Place.
