Float Your Boat Family Fun Day at CC Maritime Museum

September 16th from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Float Your Boat Family Fun Day at Cape Cod Maritime Museum - On Saturday, September 16, from 1-4 p.m. children 5 and up will have a chance to design and build a hand held boat using recycled and simple materials. Adult family members or caregivers will be welcome to join in, building their own boats. Younger children are welcome but must be under adult supervision at all times. This is a drop in event and families are encouraged to attend together.

Quick and simple lessons on buoyancy and floating will be given and all will be encouraged to float their boats. Challenges around weight bearing and free motion will also be offered.

Materials cost is $3 per individual participant for members of the CCMM. Non-members must pay admission as well as the $3 per participant fee. The materials fee caps at $12 for families.

If weather permits the event will be held outdoors. Otherwise it will take place in the downstairs classroom. Participants are welcome to arrive and create any time between 1 and 3:30 p.m. If they wish, participants may take their creations home. The event will end at 4 p.m.

The CCMM is located at 135 South Street in Hyannis. 508-775-1723 www.capecodmaritimemuseum.org
