Jazz fans, here’s your chance to request your favorite tunes! The LANCE MARTIN JAZZ TRIO will take any song request at the Spire Center, 25 ½ Court St. in downtown Plymouth, MA on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 8:00 p.m. Have you ever sat in a concert and just felt like you have no control? The Lance Martin Jazz Trio found a solution: ask the audience what they want to hear. The All-Request Concert is a concept made up of special musicians, which result in a special evening. The Trio began this almost 14 years ago at The Wellesley Free Library. The old philosophy is to perform Your playlist regardless of the demographic of your audience. The All-Request model gives the performer an idea of what songs your audience really want to hear.
Berklee Professors Dave Clark & John Baboian along with Lance Martin of Wellesley College, are game to perform an impromptu concert, with just a song suggestion of any genre from each audience member. This is not a game of Stump the Band, rather a suggestion of what you’d like to hear that evening. Because most of the songs are performed from memory, it is difficult to find musicians wanting to play this show. John, Dave, and Lance found the chemistry to achieve this. A song never played is their challenge, and makes this an exciting show not to miss. Drummer Zeke Martin will be the special guest. Don’t miss your chance to get in on this extraordinary event!
