A Word of Thanks from Cape Cod Regional Technical High School

from Superintendent Bob Sanborn

First and foremost, I want to thank everyone who voted this evening with a special thank you to all our supporters. We are extremely appreciative to the voters of our district from Provincetown to Mashpee for this outcome this evening. Most of all, this vote endorses our students and our teachers! Current students and alumni should be extremely proud of attending Cape Cod Tech, voters, this evening, chose to make a substantial investment because of you! This process has shed light on the pivotal role, Vocational Technical Education and you play in workforce development and economic development on Cape Cod. Additionally, the message that we are the Vocational Technical option for students from our sending districts: Monomoy, Nauset, Mashpee, Dennis/Yarmouth and Barnstable was supported loud and clear.

Another heartening aspect of this process was our commitment to a transparent process and I want to thank all our staff and administration, especially our Business Manager, Erin Orcutt, our twenty-five member school building committee, our twenty-three member school committee, all twelve town clerks and their support personnel who oversaw this election and all municipal officials, most of whom were overwhelmingly supportive of this project but I do mean all town officials supportive of the project and opposed to the project.

Opponents always prefaced their remarks by recognizing the outstanding job our school does for students and the local workforce. An Overwhelming majority of voters tonight said "Yes", and we are extremely appreciative, but really it was the unequivocal district-wide respect for our mission that prevailed today, the mission of Cape Cod Regional Technical High School, the results are a testament to the successful students and the extraordinary teachers, teacher's aides, custodians, food service and maintenance workers, secretaries and administrators that have worked at Cape Cod Regional Technical High School over the last forty- three years.
