Beaty Issues Statement on Cape Cod Commission Transition

Feels full search is necessary for transparency and accountability
County Commissioner Ron Beaty

Public statement issued by County Commissioner Ron Beaty:

With regard to to the appointment today of Kristy Senatori as the Acting Executive Director of the Cape Cod Commission by the Barnstable County Commissioners, it should be duly noted that the vote was not unanimous.

I voted in opposition because there quite likely will not be a properly conducted search done for a permanent Executive Director.

Speaking as one individual Barnstable County Commissioner this would be contrary to the public interest!

Moreover, for the sake of OPEN, TRANSPARENT and ACCOUNTABLE REGIONAL GOVERNMENT, I strongly believe a search committee should be impaneled at the earliest opportunity to find a new CAPE COD COMMISSION Executive Director.

As previously stated by me, not to do so unnecessarily casts doubt upon  the integrity of the leadership transition process, would be against the public interest, and will jeopardize public confidence in, and call into question the LEGITIMACY of the powerful county land use planning and regulatory agency itself!

Thank you.
