The Assumption College Department of Athletics has announced that Colby Hamwey, of West Yarmouth has earned a spot on the 2018 Assumption College men's lacrosse team. Hamwey, Class of 2019, will compete during the Greyhounds' spring season.
"This season, we are focused on maximizing the potential of our players as both students and athletes," said Keith Loftis, who is entering his sixth season as head coach of the Assumption men's lacrosse team. "Our student-athletes strive to improve every day, and continue to commit themselves to the team and to their academics. Our team mentality is centered on the idea of brotherhood, as we welcome nine new freshmen into the fold."
The Hounds are returning six of their top scorers from the 2017 season, including goaltender Colby Hamwey '19, who was recently named to the NEILA Division II All New England Preseason team. The team, who was one win shy of making the Northeast10 Tournament last season, was ranked eighth in the NE10 Preseason Coaches' Poll.
