Morning Crash in Wellfleet Closes Route 6 for 90 Minutes

Motor Vehicle Crash

On Thursday, April 12, 2018 at approximately 7:23 am, Wellfleet Police officers responded to a report of a head on motor vehicle accident on Route Six near West Rd. Upon arrival, officers observed two vehicles, a 2017 Nissan Infiniti operated by male operator from Wellfleet, MA and a 2015 Chevrolet Van operated by male operator of Harwich, MA, involved in the accident. The Wellfleet and Eastham Fire departments arrived on location and began treating victims. One victim was transported to Cape Cod Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Route Six remained closed for approximately one and one-half hours while traffic was detoured around the accident scene.

The cause of the accident is unknown at this time and is currently under investigation by the Wellfleet Police Department.
