Bourne Woman Killed in Mattapoisett Crash

Single vehicle crash on Route 195...

This morning at about 1:00 a.m., State Police from the Bourne Barracks responded to a single-vehicle crash on Route 195 East in Mattapoisett which resulted in the death of the operator.

Preliminary investigation by Trooper James Caldera indicates that a 38-year-old woman from Bourne was traveling on Route 195 Eastbound in a 2013 Toyota Camry when, for reasons still under investigation, the vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway into the median and struck a tree. The operator and sole occupant, who was entrapped in the vehicle, was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene.

The cause of this crash remains under investigation with assistance from the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, Crime Scene Services Section, Troopers assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

The identity of the victim is being withheld pending family notification.
