Flags to Remain Lowered

In honor of Officer Sean Gannon, SSgt. Robert F. Campbell and First Lady Barbara Bush
Flags remain lowered in honor of Officer Sean Gannon, SSgt. Robert F. Campbell and First Lady Barbara Bush

Please be advised that as a mark of respect for the memory of former First Lady Barbara Bush and in accordance with a Presidential proclamation, Massachusetts Governor Charles D. Baker has ordered that the United States flag and the Commonwealth flag be lowered to half-staff at all state buildings beginning immediately until the day of interment.

This order shall run concurrent to the existing Commonwealth of Massachusetts half-staff notifications in honor of Officer Sean Gannon of Yarmouth, Massachusetts and Staff Sergeant Robert F. Campbell, of Holliston, Massachusetts.

Therefore flags in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts should remain at half-staff through sunset on the day of interment of Mrs. Bush.  Update to be provided regarding this date.

These gubernatorial orders apply to:

1.  The main or administration building of each public institution of the Commonwealth, e.g. town and city halls.

2.  Other state-owned or state-controlled buildings.

3.  All state military installations.
