Letter in Support of Laurel Labdon for Brewster Selectman

from Barnstable Town Councilor Jen Cullum

Letter to the Editor...

I am writing to support my long-time friend Laurel Labdon for Selectman in Brewster.

Laurel has long been an activist and supporter of political engagement. As Ms. Wheelchair Massachusetts she successfully lobbied at the state and federal level for equal access for all to public areas such as swimming pools and beaches. She has a positive resilient attitude when addressing challenges that all communities on Cape Cod are facing- like community based affordable housing and addressing climate change.

Laurel is the only candidate that grew up in the town of Brewster and the only candidate that can focus all of her energy on the Select Board, as she has no other vocational commitments. Over the years, life has dealt Laurel many seemingly insurmountable challenges, and yet she has never wavered in her spirit, never drifted from her path of purpose. These are the qualities you can expect from Laurel on the Board of Selectmen: strength, decency and commitment.
