Maplewood at Mayflower Place to Open Million Dollar Fitness Club

Maplewood at Mayflower Place, Cape Cod’s only full service continuing care retirement community, announces the Grand Opening of its new Fitness Club on Thursday, May 3, 2018. The Fitness Club, which sprawls over 5,000 square feet, will be focused on providing a chic, upscale aesthetic designed specifically for seniors. The unveiling of the new million dollar renovations will take place from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p. m. at 579 Buck Island Road, West Yarmouth.

Maplewood Senior Living team of professionals created the stunning new fitness club, which includes a new, sleek look with fresh colors and a stylish décor. Whitten Landscaping reimagined the patio landscape and added new furnishings. The renovations include an aquatic center, updated indoor heated swimming pool, refurbished locker rooms, a hydrotherapy spa, new lighting fixtures, and more.

 

The new Fitness Club is fully equipped with personalized fitness equipment including resistance machines, balance-training area, and cardiovascular equipment. It will also features state-of-the-art Keiser pressurized-air strength training machines that are less stressful on bones and joints.

 

The Fitness Club will offer personalized fitness training, weight reduction, and other specialty programs designed to complement pre-or-post surgery needs. Exercise Physiologist and Fitness Director, Rick Pizzuto will oversees all programming as well as  create customized programs based on individual goals, health status, and age. Additional exercise programs available at the center include a chair exercise class and low-impact aerobics classes.

 

The large indoor heated pool and hydrotherapy spa can be enjoyed individually or as part of water exercise classes, which include water aerobics and walking, Ai Chi (a unique exercise that combines deep breathing with slow body movements), and the Arthritis Foundation’s Aquatic Program.
