A GoFundMe campaign has been launched for the family of slain Yarmouth Police Officer Sean Gannon. The campaign raised $3,655 of its $50,000 goal in the first 52 minutes it was active.
The campaign was launched today by Elizabeth Ambrosini. The campaign description states:
As many of you already know, Officer Sean Gannon, an 8-year veteran of the YPD, was fatally shot while helping execute an arrest warrant. His beloved K-9, Nero, was also shot and is currently in surgery. We will post updates on K-9 Nero's status. At 32, Sean leaves behind his beloved wife, Dara and their 3 dogs, including K-9 Nero, Kira, and retired K-9, Thor - all of whom he loved immensely.
A couple things about Sean: he was the type of person who would go out of his way, completely above and beyond, to help anyone. He was funny, universally-liked...the list goes on.
It goes without saying that Dara has the emotional support of her Cape Cod family, her YPD family, and countless others. Please join in offering financial support after this horrific tragedy, so that her terrible loss is not compounded by financial burden.
Rest in peace, Officer Gannon.
