FREE PRESENTATION: “Artful Aging” Art Show Presentation
The COA and the Artful Aging Participants welcome the community to join us for an afternoon of sharing of thoughts expressed in their Artfully Aging Journals, and social gathering. Light refreshments served. Gail Tilton, local Artist, will give a short presentation on the use of Art for healing, and the participants will informally share their own experiences. The Artful Aging Art Classes series was sponsored by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, the Chatham Cultural Council and the Friends of Chatham. FREE DAYTRIP DESTINATION: Private Tour of the Edward Gorey House Museum followed by Luncheon at the Optimist Café
The Edward Gorey House celebrates and preserves the life and works of Edward Gorey, an American author, illustrator, playwright, set and costume designer (www.edwardgoreyhouse.org). The Optimist Café, originally the Captain Howes House, serves fresh breakfast and lunch fare in their unique and comfortable atmosphere (www.optimistcafe.com). The Bus will depart the COA at 10:30am. Special Father’s Day Gourmet Luncheon
In honor of Father’s Day, the COA is hosting a special luncheon. All are welcome.
All guests who are fathers, will be treated to a reduced price of $5. Regular tickets
are $7. Fathers will also receive a special token gift of appreciation from the COA.

FREE - DAYTRIP- SENIOR DAY AT WHOLE FOODS
Chatham COA will be offering transportation to and from Whole Foods on 5/16/2018. Seniors are invited to visit the Whole Food’s store on Senior Day for cooking demonstrations, and to enjoy free samplings from the menu of the day. The COA Bus will leave Chatham at 9am, the event takes place 10:00am - 11:30am. The COA Bus will then depart Whole Foods by 12:00, returning directly to Chatham. In 1974, in the suburb of Port Chester, New York, the teenage aspirant artist John Talia has a troubled relationship with his homophobic father who does not understand John's talent. While visiting his friend Yammi, John finds that the genius Russian painter Nicoli Seroff lives nearby. He decides to pay a visit to his idol. John finds a bitter alcoholic who is still grieving the loss of his wife Anya. Somehow, he successfully befriends the master. When Nicoli travels to the countryside in Pennsylvania, he invites John to go with him to teach him how to paint. John meets Nicoli's neighbor Carla who grieves the loss of her son, and the arrogant critic of art and Nicolai's friend Curtis Sunday. Along their vacation, the synergy of Nicoli and John improves their individual lives.
