Cape & Islands Delegation Meets with Court Leaders

Requests review of criminal justice system's practices...
State Rep. Tim Whelan (R-Brewster)

From State Rep. Tim Whelan (R-Brewster):

Members of the Cape & Islands delegation met recently with leadership of the Massachusetts Trial Court, subsequent to our call for a review of the practices of the criminal justice system in the Commonwealth. This was the first, I hope, of many meetings and discussions to bring the operations of this system to light for many and to let the public see what their tax dollars are supporting.

Part of our discussion was about a report completed by Chief Justice Dawley after his examination of the case of Jorge Zambrano, murderer of Auburn Police Officer Ron Tarentino. I asked for a copy, or a link to this report which is public record and I am posting it here for you to have access to. I will offer not a word of my opinion and hope you will read this report and develop your own opinion of the management of the criminal history of this person.

Please do share this information as much as you can. Every member of the public has a right to see the inner workings of their government, including the criminal justice system (and the legislature).

There will be more information to follow. Stay tuned.
