Nickel bus fares to move tourists from the Canal to Provincetown
On this day in 1915, Cape Cod hotel managers proclaimed that the war raging in Europe would mean more tourists visiting Cape Cod that summer.
The story even called our 365 ponds "lakes".
The newly opened Cape Cod Canal would also mean that the New York Yacht Club's annual cruise would pass through the Cape on its way to Marblehead.
