Dennis Fire Dept. Responds to Tractor Trailer Fire

40 foot trash transport trailer...

From the Dennis Fire Department...

The Dennis fire department at 9:32pm, responded to a tractor trailer fire at 200 Great Western Road. S&J Exco Company.

Upon arrival they had a 40 foot trash transport trailer burning heavily involved. Firefighters using large diameter deck guns knocked the fire down. A supply line was laid across Gages Way causing the road to be closed for an hour. While Dennis police rerouted traffic around the incident.

The owner John Shaw, assisted the fire department by pulling the densely packed burning materials from the rear of the trailer with an excavator. Once removed the material could be completely extinguished.

The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time but does not appear to be suspicious.

Yarmouth fire department responded an engine to cover Dennis while the fire was being fought.

There were no reported injuries
