In a recently issued official determination (see attached documents), the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office, Division of Open Government has ruled that the Massachusetts Port Authority, Board of Directors has violated the Open Meeting Law.
The review and investigation resulted from a formal complaint filed by Republican 5th Barnstable District State Representative Candidate and Barnstable County Commissioner Ron Beaty.
Beaty stated, “I am happy to see that my ongoing pursuit of open, transparent and accountable government is yielding positive results.”
Beaty further stated, “The public’s right to know regarding all state governmental operations is of paramount importance. When elected as a state legislator, I plan to bring this same kind of dogged pursuit of transparency and accountability to Beacon Hill as well.”
