BREWSTER- Representative Timothy Whelan (R-Brewster) has announced that he has received the endorsement of his re-election as State Representative from the First Barnstable District from the Massachusetts Correction Officers Federated Union (MCOFU). MCOFU represents over 4,800 employees serving in Massachusetts Correctional Institutions and several county correctional facilities across the Commonwealth.
"I am very grateful to the women and men who walk the toughest beat in the Commonwealth for their confidence. Having served almost 5 years as a correction officer, I know first-hand many of the inherent dangers these brave officers face every day.", Whelan said. "I am proud to have worked with side-by-side with MCOFU on issues to improve the safety and wellness of their members and I look forward to continuing that work in the future."
Representative Whelan is serving in his second term as State Representative. His Committee assignments include serving on the House Committee on Ways & Means, Joint Committee on Public Service (Ranking member), and Joint Committee on Higher Education. He was recently recognized by MCOFU with their "Representative of the Year" award at their annual retirement dinner in Milford.
