The next open house at Crosby Mansion will be Sunday, July 15th from 10 AM - 2 PM.  The mansion, built in 1888, is located at 162 Crosby Lane and was named “Tawasentha” by Albert and Matilda Crosby. Over the past 26 years, The Friends of Crosby Mansion, Inc. have worked diligently to preserve and restore this 3-story residence.  In 1888, it was the largest private residence on Cape Cod and boasted flush toilets, a communication system, gas lighting, hot & cold running water, steam heat and 13 fireplaces. Docents will be in the first floor rooms to give talks and answer questions.  Visitors may take self-guided tours of all 3 floors.  Local Brewster author, Dorothy Leone, will autograph purchased copies of her book “Where The Herring Run,” a fictional novel based on the life of Albert Crosby.  A donation of $5 per person over 12 is requested.  For more information, call 508-896-1744.
