A little something for everyone...

The Truro Public Library is pleased to present, “Investing for Social Good: Business, Finance, and Human Rights,” with Ali Pinkerton, on Tuesday, July 17, at 6:30 p.m.  Ali works in the Private Sector Department at Oxfam America, an international human rights and development organization, developing innovative financing tools strategies to affect positive social outcomes.  She also analyzes how certain social problems may translate into broader scale investment risks or opportunities in key Oxfam issue areas such as sustainable food and agriculture, corporate transparency, and human rights due diligence. Before Oxfam, Ali worked as an investment consultant specializing in private equity and private credit at Cambridge Associates. Please call the Truro Library at 508-487-1125 for further information. Free Lunch for Kids

Thursday, July 12 & Friday, July 13, 11:30 am – 12:30 pm

The Truro Public Library is pleased to join other local community institutions this summer who provide free lunches for all children 18 years and under through Food For Kids through Friday, August 24.  This open, drop-in program offers a nutritious meal, fresh-packed in the morning by the primary sponsor in our area, The Church of the Holy Spirit, and distributed to sites from Chatham to Provincetown. The Summer Food Service Program is a federally funded child nutrition program whose goal is to feed children and teens ages 1-18 during the summer months when they do not have access to school meals.

Join a CCNS Ranger for an educational seashore program and activity.

 

Kids’ Escape Room

July 18, 5:00 p.m.  Please sign up in advance.

The Lost Mummy is a collaborative “Escape the Room” game designed for kids aged 8–12. Working in teams, we will discover clues, decipher codes and solve puzzles to escape the tomb of the Lost Mummy!  Pizza will be served before the challenge.
