Wellfleet Police Statement on Today's Head-On Crash

From the Wellfleet Police Department:

On Saturday, July 14, 2018, at approximately 5:03 am, The Wellfleet Police Department responded to a report of a head on motor vehicle accident on Route Six near Fresh Brook Ln.
 
Upon arrival, officers observed two vehicles, a 2015 Jeep Patriot operated by a 22 year old female from Ithaca, NY. The second vehicle, a 2007 Kia Optima, was operated by a 26 year old male operator from Falmouth.
 
The Wellfleet and Eastham Fire Departments arrived on location and began treating victims. Both victims were transported to Cape Cod Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The male operator was later transported to Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. 

Route 6 remained open during the investigation and traffic was heavy in the area. 

 
The cause of the accident is currently under investigation by the Wellfleet Police Department and members of the Cape Cod Regional Reconstruction Team.
