Senator Cyr Reports Senate Moving to Pass Police Training Bill

"This afternoon the Senate will take up and pass House Bill 4516..."
State Senator Julian Cyr

From State Senator Julian Cyr:

Big news!

The municipal police training proposal that the Senate has passed several times is heading to the Governor’s desk.

This afternoon the Senate will take up and pass House Bill 4516, which will provide stable funding for municipal police training up to $10 million annually.

After the Senate passes this bill today, this bill will be on the Governor’s desk for his signature. A big step forward for investment in our police in Massachusetts, and an excellent example of teamwork by the Cape & Islands legislative delegation.

Special thanks to Yarmouth Police Dept. Chief Frederickson and the Mass. Chiefs of Police Association for their dogged advocacy for this critical priority.
