Cape Cod Art Center Announces “Mastering Your Mark - 2018” Art Conference

The Cape Cod Art Center (CCAC) has announced the schedule for its 3rd annual “Mastering Your Mark 2018” Art Conference to be held Sunday, October 14th from 8:30 to 4:00 at the Cape Codder Resort & Spa in Hyannis. Registration is now open.
The “Mastering Your Mark” art conference is designed to engage all media and is open to artists of all levels. Over 20 renowned artists from Cape Cod and New England are conducting seminars, demonstrations, panel discussions and hands-on activities covering technique, the creative process and the business of art.
The conference is divided into 4 sessions and includes lunch with keynote speaker, Wendy Hale, on the topic “The Creative Brain - Why We Paint; Why We Can’t”. Attendees may register for one program per session. Early registration is advised as seminars fill up quickly.
This year’s offerings include: “Painting the Figure in Oil” with Paul Schulenburg; “Mixed Media Collage” with Sarah Holl; “The Art of Letting Go” with Jackie Reeves (back by popular demand); “Florals in Watercolor” with Wendy Hale; “Pastels: Textures, Layers & Exploration” with Betsy
Payne Cook; “Unlearning Acrylics” with Ann Trainer Domingue; “How Digital Media Can Contribute to and Enhance Traditional Painting” with Andrea Pettito; “What Lies Beneath” with Eileen Casey; “Digital Art” with Rebecca Bruyn; “A Winter Landscape” (watercolor) with Robert Mesrop; “Painting with Alcohol Inks” with Mary Wojciechowski; “Using IColorama” with Catherine Caddigan; “Limited Strokes” with Nancy Colella; “Water Color Cityscapes” with Wendy Hale; “Websites, Social Media and More for Artists” with Jody McNamara; “Working With a Gallery” presented by Scott Chapman, Chapman Gallery; “Copyright and Trademark Basics for Artists” with Roberta Miller.
Two panel discussions are also scheduled: “How to Keep it Going” with Karen Pinard, Ann Trainor Domingue and Kathryn Kleekamp; and “Pricing Your Artwork” with Roberta Miller, Scott Chapman and Sherry Rhyno.

Cape Cod Art Center will host a pre-conference workshop, “Uncovering Your Mark” at CCAC on Saturday, October 13th from 1pm to 4pm, led by artist Ann Trainor Domingue (members-$85 / nonmembers-$105). Through a practical fun process, learn how to uncover ‘your marks’, incorporate them into your artwork and generate ideas to enrich your art.
