Yarmouth Fire Deemed Suspicious

From the Massachusetts Department of Fire Services:

The early morning fire at 608  Route 28 in Yarmouth is considered suspicious.

The building had been vacant for an extended period of time and had no utilities. Investigators believe someone was inside the building without permission and either intentionally or accidentally started the fire.

Anyone with information about the fire is asked to call the Arson Hotline at 1-800-682-9229, confidentially, 24 hours a day, or the Yarmouth Police Department.

The Arson Hotline is part of the Arson Watch Reward Program that provides rewards of UP TO $5,000 for information that helps to solve the case. It is sponsored by the property and casualty insurance underwriting companies of Massachusetts.

The fire is being jointly investigated by the Yarmouth Fire and Police Departments and State Police assigned to the Office of the State Fire Marshal.
