Falmouth Police Update on Friday's Shooting

Both officers expected to recover...

Statement issued overnight by Falmouth Police Lt. Douglas DeCosta:

Both police officers are expected to recover. One officer was treated for a gunshot wound to the neck, and the second officer is being treated for a gunshot wound to the chest above his ballistic vest. He was also shot at least once in his ballistic vest. 

The suspect, 21-year-old Malik Koval of East Falmouth, was flown from Beth Israel in Plymouth to Brigham and Women’s Hospital for further treatment of gunshot wounds he sustained during the incident.
