From the Yarmouth Department of Natural Resources:

On Saturday July 28, 2018 at approximately 0010hrs, Yarmouth Police Dispatch Center received a call from a resident who discovered a 35’ sailboat aground outside her house.

Yarmouth DNR was notified and responded via Yarmouth DNR Patrol Boat J48. Once on scene the vessel was searched for any persons on board. No persons were found. Due to the incoming tide, and the fact that the sailboat would be pushed on the rocks feet away it was determined an emergency tow was necessary to save the vessel from catastrophic damage.

The vessel was secured and towed off the bar and away from the rocks. It was determined that the vessel broke free from a mooring off of Hyannis Yacht Club. By 0230hrs the vessel was secured to the yacht club dock.
