The Wareham Department of Natural Resources reports that charges have been filed against the man accused of throwing a dog off Stonebridge, an act that was caught on nearby business' surveillance cameras. The dog was dropped in excess of twelve feet into the water below. The subject then jumped into the water himself.
The subject, Kevin G. Ouellette, age 51, of 15 Brady Drive, East Falmouth, was interviewed by a WDNR officer. He reportedly told the officer that the dog "likes it" and he does this all the time. The dog, a male American Staffordshire Terrier, was uninjured during the incident.
Upon completing the investigation, officers determined that Mr. Ouellette is not the owner of the dog and that the dog had been taken without permission from his owner. Officers determined that the subject inflicted unnecessary cruelty on the dog by throwing it off the bridge.
Working in cooperation with the law enforcement division of the Animal Rescue League of Boston, Wareham Police Department and the Plymouth County Sheriff's Bureau of Criminal Investigation, an application for a criminal complaint was filed on August 3, 2018 seeking the following charges against Mr. Ouellette:
