Duffy Health Center Receives Grant from Eastern Bank

$10,000 to expand women's health services...

Duffy Health Center has been awarded a $10,000 grant from Eastern Bank to expand women’s health services. The grant is part of the 2018 celebration of Eastern Bank’s 200th anniversary. Eastern Bank’s Targeted Grants have been designated to support organizations addressing a range of issues that disproportionately impact women.

Duffy CEO Heidi Nelson notes, “Most women who have experienced homelessness or housing instability have experienced trauma, violence, stigma, or otherwise been impacted by social determinants of health. These factors have a long-lasting, negative impact on the ability to manage already stressful lives and act on health care needs. The Eastern Bank grant will help train our providers to effectively meet the needs of this vulnerable population.”

The mission of Duffy Health Center is to provide comprehensive, integrated health care and support services to persons who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness on Cape Cod, and to improve the quality of life for vulnerable populations through community collaborations, leadership, and advocacy.
