The Cape Cod Museum of Natural History in Brewster presents

Drawing and Painting from Nature with local artist and art educator Eve Aspinwall. Eight Thursdays; September 6 – October 25, 2018 9am–11:00am.

Drawing from nature is a relaxing and uplifting pursuit which connects contemplation, inspiration and personal growth in important ways. This course is for adults interested in exploring this intersection of nature, art and expression. Basic drawing tools, materials and techniques will be demonstrated and students may also work with color media of their choice, including watercolor, color pencils, and pastels. We will spend a part of each class looking at diverse examples of artists’ approaches to creating images inspired by observing nature.

Working from natural objects and still-life arrangements, each student will be encouraged to find their individual mode of expression, from realism to abstraction. Ample one on one attention provided as well as group critiques.

For the first class bring 2B pencils, soft vine charcoal, a kneaded eraser and a 9x12 (or larger) good quality sketchbook.  Beginners and all levels welcome.

Entire Series ~ $275.00 / Individual session: $50.00 per class
