Wareham Police Catch Alleged Thief in the Act

Cops interrupt alleged burglary at construction site...

From the Wareham Police Department:

Wareham Police came upon an alleged burglary in progress early on Thursday at a Route 6 construction site.

Police responded to the site of the former Cranberry Cottage restaurant, which is being rebuilt following a fire last year, after receiving a report of suspicious activity at about 4:30 a.m..

At the scene, Officer Aaron Pacheco found a man on the site who had driven there in a pickup truck with a concealed license plate. After an investigation, officers determined an attempted breaking and entering had been thwarted.

Emanuel Orrico, age 58, of Wareham, was arrested and charged with:

  • Breaking and entering with intent to commit a felony
  • Possessing burglarious tools
  • Trespassing
  • Vandalizing property

Sgt. Daniel Henderson and Officer Peter Silvia assisted in the arrest and investigation.
