Boat Burns in Tisbury Overnight

No one was injured when this boat caught on fire early Saturday morning in Tisbury. (TPD photo)

From the Tisbury Police Department:

On Saturday, September 1st at approximately 0100hrs, Tisbury Police, EMS and Fire units responded to the dock area behind the Tisbury Shell for a report of a 55ft vessel that was engulfed in smoke.

TPD units arrived on scene first and assisted the boat's occupants and occupants of a nearby vessel safely from the area.

TFD personnel, with the assistance of OBFD, Tisbury Harbormaster and the US Coast Guard assisted in containing the blaze and assisting on scene.

Thanks to the quick response of everyone involved no one was injured during this incident.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by TFD at this time.
