Truro Police: Body of Missing Person Located

UPDATE: Victim identified as Connecticut man

UPDATE at 8:10 p.m. - The office of Cape & Islands District Attorney Michael O'Keefe has identified the body recovered today off Truro's Ballston Beach as Ross A. Williamson, age 27, of Bolton, Connecticut.

According to the District Attorney's statement, there is nothing to suggest the death was anything other than accidental.  The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has accepted jurisdiction of the case.

On Sunday, September 30, 2018, members of the Truro Fire Department, Truro Police Department, National Park Service, and Massachusetts State Police resumed the search for a missing person off Ballston beach. At approximately 0740, the body of the missing person was located 1 mile north of Ballston Beach. The Massachusetts State Police and National Park Service are investigating this incident. At this time the identity of the individual is being withheld pending family notification.
