BOURNE - Peter Tedeschi, former President and CEO of Tedeschi Food Shops and candidate to represent the 9th Congressional District of Massachusetts, continued his “Focused on Our Future” rolling rally today with a stop in Bourne, where he discussed the need for federal investment and attention towards the district’s infrastructure.

Tedeschi highlighted two large infrastructure concerns: the aging Cape Cod bridges and the need to realize Cape Cod’s Section 208 Plan.

In his remarks, Peter Tedeschi committed to seek federal funds to meet maintenance and replacement needs of the Cape Cod bridges.

“Our Tourism industry is the economic engine of this region. Reliable transportation infrastructure is the first component. The health and safety of our beaches is another critical component to the success of that industry,” said Tedeschi.

“We need to mitigate existing and ongoing nitrogen pollution. We need to make investments in sewer on Cape Cod, and federal money should absolutely be a component of that. I will be a tireless advocate in the fight to secure federal investment into these, and other, infrastructure challenges.”

Bourne was the fourth of five stops Tedeschi will be making on his tour throughout the 9th District today.
